I would prefer to see a bit less of the snake handling and a bit more of the other reptiles and lizards. I understand importance and how common snakes are near settlements, however we all have seen snake handling before 50 different ways in hundreds of documentaries. Camera work could have been better in a few parts, I would suggest a taller tripod for scenes were he was moving in to get closer to herds or the lions. Most of the shots were from a very low perspective. Even taking a Gopro so you can place it on a long rod or stick to get higher views would have been cool. Especially to see the world from a giraffes point of view in the giraffe part. I was glad to see he only used the footage he got on the first time rather then re-catching to get the perfect shot as to not stress the animals more then necessary.
All in all a good documentary and i even learned a few things i didn’t know before i went in. Most documentaries just talk about how dangerous things are, but Andrew can explain more of why the are seen that way and the real possible threat. He is not spreading fear the the creatures he captures rather showing how stay safe with these things in your environment.
    Worth the ten bucks.

Fantastic Doco. I love your attitude to the natural world. Only a 4 star review because i was not able to download the video once purchased, had to stream which is frustrating for a slow internet connection. Keep producing great content!

  10. Rosston (verified owner)

This was an absolutely fantastic documentary! I will definitely be visiting Africa as soon as I can. It is my dream to be able to catch an animal with Andrew someday!

  11. Matthew (verified owner)

The way Andrew interacts with the locals in this is what I find the most fascinating part. He comes to them from a humbled standpoint, as truly their equal, not as just some Westerner asking questions – you get a sense he really is trying to see what it would be like to live in that environment. Learnt a lot too, and of course, he’s crazy as ever!

  12. Thomas (verified owner)

Andrew Ucles is just amazing. He is an inspiring person who loves animals and just the wildlife in total. He catches the animals and teaches us about it and the best part is that he let the animals free. Truely an amazing person, I really love him!

I found your channel on youtube and was immediately captured by the purity of it. I grew up watching Steve Irwin EVERY chance i got and was depressed for months when he passed (may he rest forever in peace) .. but i never let it spoil the message he so hard tried to teach. I actually accredit my choice on becoming a wildlife biologist soon to him. Watching this documentary reminded me of the the times i was captivated as a child watching Steve Irwin. Please continue doing what you do, watching this makes me remember my childhood dreams and ambitions. GREAT WORK UCLES!!!

  30. Egon (verified owner)

Excellent video Andrew! Enjoyed every minute of it. One of course sees most of this “movie” in short 3 minute clips on YouTube but I figured I might as well spend the $10. because you’ve got to eat, right?! Just so that you can buy some spices for the “roadkill” you probably roast over the open fire. Keep at it but don’t do anything stupid.

  31. Brent (verified owner)

That was straight up fantastic! I’d been waiting and waiting for this to come out, and it blew my expectations out of the water. Well done sir.

Excellent documentary takes you into Africa not only for wildlife but how people there live cant wait for more

  46. Jacob (verified owner)

Ucles VS Africa is a brilliant POV documentary where the viewer shadows Ucles through out his journey giving you brilliant insight without needing a passport or the worry of being bitten, scratched, mangled, or killed by Africa’s most deadliest creatures. While Andrew is very charismatic, his educational speeches are very entertaining and something the viewer can really take home and learn from his experience. Great job Andrew and can’t wait to see the Ucles VS North America. Cheers!

  47. Sébastien (verified owner)

Traveling to the roots of humanity, Andrews exploration of the world around us shows that we have much to protect and experience. Open your eyes, listen intently and put yourself in Andrews footsteps as he shows you how to truly enjoy life on this planet we call Earth. Andrews dedication to conservation is inspiring and his work is something we must embrace as we are surrounded by the chaos of conflict in a growing population. Thank you and never stop being who you are Andrew!
